Beautiful Inside & Out
The inside of your project should be as beautiful as the outside.
The ready-to-wear clothing you have in your closet most likely is finished with a serger. Many people are intimidated by this machine since it not only sews, but cuts at the same time. We will look at this machine as an option so that you can understand its benefits. If you don't have a serger, your machine has other stitches that will work similarly.
There are several types of finishes that do not require serging, and that can be even more beautiful.
In this course, we will look at:
Pinking shears
Zig Zag
Overcast stitches
Serged
French Seams
Bias binding
Flat Fell
These are for seam finishes. Please be aware that there are more techniques.
For finishing edges like armholes or necklines, consider the course "What is a Facing?" offered here at Artisan for Free!
